Time it will tell
It almost has
All the words left make a cursive sound
What was to be has been and has been gone
Now here awaiting the darkest of the dawns
On the back side of life it’s all there to be seen
the good, bad and ugly, the course in-between
Where we all go if we’re lucky my friend
You get it in the end
Do regrets hurt as much as the back
who carried the load stacked upon stacked?
Was it all for not to do the right things?
All for the bounty this saddest of the springs
On the back side of life it’s all there to be seen
the good, bad and ugly, the course in-between
Where we all go if we’re lucky my friend
You get it in the end
Wipe away all those regrets (from the back side of life)
Wipe away whatever’s left (on the back side of life)
Wipe away those dreams that never made a daylight sound
Wipe away the what ifs, why fors and what the heck nows
Time it will tell
It surely will
Time won’t keep your secrets it’s surely to spill
on the backside of life bent over, on your way down
In the end time sticks it to you without making a sound
On the back side of life it’s all there to be seen
the good, bad and ugly, the course in-between
Where we all go if we’re lucky my friend
You get it in the end
You get it in the end
Here’s to us all getting it right in the end

Behind The Song...
Back Side Of Life
In recent years I have been surrounded by and often responsible for the care of many aging family members. It is a very hard thing to watch as those who have always cared for you shrink away. It is a privilege to be able to care for them but it takes a lot out of me.
